Hello everyone!
I have decided that every month I will add a blog post about vintage cameras. This month I will be talking about the Kodak Baby Brownie camera! This was the first vintage camera I found. She has been retouched and cleaned and works perfectly! So tiny and cute I love her.
The Baby Brownie was the second camera produced in the brownie collections made by Eastman Kodak company. Designed by Walter Dorwin Teague this beauty is a solid body eye level roll film camera. Introduced in the USA in July of 1934 and discontinued in 1941. Baby brownies designed for export from 1936-1939 had a button for brief time exposures. Kodak ltd UK produced this camera from 1948-1952 but only models made from 1951-1953 made in the UK have the button for brief time exposures. The Baby Brownie camera uses 127 film with a picture size of 1 1/8 x 2 1/2 inches, using a rotary shutter. The original price in 1934 was $1.00 ( one dollar ).
The Baby Brownie was redesigned in 1939-1940 for the New York worlds fair. If you find the New York worlds fair version its a limited addition and the value is greater that the original Baby Brownie camera as it was only available during that year.
